Covid-19 that pushed the entire world to the backseat last year has not spared this second year too. During the last 12 months, countries like India had shown economically negative growth and it was expected to improve in the current financial year 2021-2022. But the second wave has given another shock to the country and with strains even more dangerous than the first strain. However the current situation in states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala and Delhi is critical after lack of beds and oxygen supply in most of the hospitals . India had just started showing reducing curve on the graph of Covid in the month of January and February. Today the scene is horrifying and medical oxygen requirement has increased to the highest level as the effect of Covid-19 is severe in patients infected with virus. Government’s effort to ramp up supply has not reached the needy in time. It’s time to maximize oxygen production and provide beds to the needy along with vaccination drive for all to minimize infections.
