Mopa airport may remain only airport in State

Mopa airport  is getting ready to invite all the international passengers by flights to Goa. From January 1, 2023,  Oman air will be the first to land flights at Mopa. I don't think Mopa airport is built only for international flights where the private company will operate it. It is impossible to run two airports in our small state of Goa as the distance between Mopa and Dabolim airport is 100 kilometres.

Neither the government or private company can give their ground and other staff salary for two airports. So once the Mopa airport starts in full swing with various types of excuses, the Dabolim airport will be closed permanently for passengers and domestic flights and it will handed over to Naval authority.

Government is lying to the people of Goa saying Dabolim airport will not be closed and will be used for domestic flights. I don't think government is fool to spend cores of rupees for the new Mopa airport project and for the national highway  and bridge projects in Goa. This project is build so that people may reach fast to their destination. By the way for the Mopa airport project, the nod was given by Congress ex-chief minister Francisco Sardinha and today completed by BJP Government. Both the parties ministers are in a profit today, the reason is that they have taken lands in a surrounding areas of Mopa airport where they will be benefited by bringing various types of projects. Sardinha says that Mopa airport is a blessing to Goa and Dabolim airport will continue for domestic flights.

Our late political singer of Goa Bab William de Curtorim through his Konkani song 'Rostad Montri ' has already told that ministers of Congress and BJP party are fooling the people of Goa by saying that both the airports will operate in Goa. For their personal gain they have finished our beautiful Goa from all sides by destroying our environment and health and by jumping from one party to another party for the greed of money and power. Taxi services and hotel and other businesses  will be affected in South Goa as tourist may stay at North Goa and may cross the Goa borders and enter the beaches of Maharashtra.

Many South Goans are now upset about the possibility of operations being toned down partially/completely at Dabolim Airport, which is centrally located and would have been the best option for all Goa (North and South!) We might blame the current ruling ideology,  but if South Goans look within and really introspect, was it not their own corrupt South Goa politicians at that time who were in power and held key positions as ministers in the Goa government, when this…
