Speed limits put on Goan Roads seem to have no thought behind them and can be predicted even by a child. Having been arbitrarily put, from Ponda to Panaji it's mostly 50 km/h without any Indication of end of speed limit. Our roads are used by heterogeneous traffic where we find from cycles to Mercedes cars using same lane, so imagine what average speed car will get to travel from Ponda to Panaji and to add to the problem, private passenger buses sometimes drive at snail's pace to adjust to competition and those talking on phone are not at all aware that there is serpentine queue behind them honking for way.
The engineers and police are not aware of minimum speed limit signboards, hence these have not been erected. Now in this situation if you cannot maintain average speed by driving at higher speed wherever there is good motorable road, than Imagine how much time one will take to reach Panaji. It will be not less than two hours.
