That sounds like some good news for Goa - 25 percent excess rainfall till date. While that may be cause for rejoicing, the question is, what are we doing to preserve this excess rainfall?
Are we letting that water go into the sea or into the gutters? Can we conserve this excess water for future use? And this applies to the rest of the country as well, where we have floods and rivers overflowing every monsoon.On the other hand, however, the rains have played havoc in Panaji according to another news report in your newspaper, creating a ‘smart mess’ as the caption of the news report says, throwing the smart city project in disarray. Nature has so many benefits, so many gifts to offer, what are we doing about that?
