The death of a six year girl, due to dengue trickled shock waves across Goa, few days back. Shockingly, we woke up to the news of Siraj Joshi, a 11-year-old found dead when he had gone on a fishing expedition along with his friends, and later on ventured into swimming. The child, a sixth standard student had returned home from his boarding school, just to enjoy the festival, along with his parents. Sadly, he met a watery grave.
However, the general rule is that the parents need to keep a vigilant check upon the whereabouts of their children frequently. Moreover, as children are growing up, the parents should also get well acquainted with their friends or groups they are involved in, so that they are guided simultaneously. Furthermore, it’s indicated that the parents should turn out into a friend to a teenager child, and that’s when the child shares his/her secrets with their parents. At times parents tend to be extremely strict with their children and henceforth, children try to hide their personal details/secrets, as they are afraid of getting summoned time and again. However, that doesn’t mean that the child should not be corrected, but it should be done in a polite and loving manner. If it exceeds the balance, then the same thing turns out into a nuisance and irritation to the child.
Most often, parents try to compare their children with their siblings which is of grave concern. However, we need to understand that everyone have different personalities, and we need to counsel them on that basis. Consequently, the parents need to keep a check on the contents which the children are exposed to, on their mobiles. Monitoring it by personally visiting the child when he/she is engaged with the mobile would be of great deal. As it’s much easier to delete the content history and keep one in the dark. Last but not the least, after doing it all, one’s trust and unwavering faith upon Almighty God can work wonders in the lives of family.
