On various occasions, we come across vehicles, especially cars, trucks and even lorries parked on the roadside during late evening and night due to some reason or the other. At times some vehicles break down and the owner or driver has no other alternative but to abandon the vehicle at the spot. However, keeping on the indicator lights on during such occasions is very important. There are occasions when the vehicle owners fail to switch on these lights thereby putting the lives of fellow travellers and pedestrians at risk. There is every possibility of another moving vehicle hitting the parked one due to poor visibility during the night. Keeping the indicator lights on would certainly reduce the possibility of any mishap. The higher officials at the Regional Transport Office (RTO) and the traffic department should take a serious note of this and initiate appropriate action against the defaulters on regular basis. This would go a long way in assuring the safety of human lives.
