The resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as Education Minister has been a victory for the youth of the country. It only goes to show that young people, who are the future of the country, can bring about the change necessary for themselves and other citizens. The resignation was timely and saved the nation from a lot of trouble, as the entire country had revolted. In a way, this is a lesson for the government of the day that the youth of the country cannot be taken for a ride. When they strike back, there can be only one result, which is victory for the people. Young people have always been at the forefront of social and political change. Their energy, determination and willingness to stand up for what they believe in make them a powerful force in any democracy. Whenever students and young citizens unite peacefully to express their concerns, they remind those in power that public opinion cannot be ignored. A strong democracy depends on accountability. Governments are expected to listen to the voices of the people, especially when policies affect the future of millions of students and young professionals. Peaceful protests, public discussions and democratic participation are important tools through which citizens can demand transparency, fairness and better governance. The involvement of young people in national issues also reflects their growing awareness of their rights and responsibilities. Rather than remaining silent, they increasingly choose to participate in debates, organise campaigns and use democratic means to seek change. Such participation strengthens democratic institutions and encourages governments to remain responsive to the needs of the public. The message for any government is clear. The aspirations of the youth deserve attention and respect. When young citizens engage constructively and peacefully, they can influence policies, shape public discourse and contribute to a more inclusive and accountable system of governance. Their collective voice serves as a reminder that democracy is strongest when people actively participate in it.
