The Opposition MLAs boycotted the training session held at a starred hotel by claiming that the Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini which administered the training is an institution from the saffron fold. There is truth in this contention. BJP-ruled states have sent their MLAs and officers to this Prabodhini for training.
The Goa Legislature Secretariat could have roped in the Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE) of the Lok Sabha Secretariat, New Delhi, as even foreign parliamentarians are trained in this institute. The training must be professionally sound and administered by politically neutral institutions.
