This is with refernce to editorial 'Do not unleash communal hatred, let peace prevail - The Goan Everyday May 28, 2022." Your editorial was apt considering the state of affairs in the state and in our nation today. You have rightly stated that Goa is a multi-religious, multi-cultural state where people live in peace and harmony. Yes, and that is true of other states as well. Unity in diversity has been the hallmark of our great nation. But it is the divisive, fascist forces who have been driving a wedge between communities in the entire nation in recent times. And the majority community sadly, remaining silent spectators. As far as religious conversions are concerned, yes it was obvious that the government would go after religious groups ever since the chief ministers sounded the bugle of religious conversions as being on the rise in the state. Professing any religion is a personal choice and it is only right that the government keep away from this area. We need to keep the political out of religion. You rightly end the editorial, let unity and peace prevail. Yes, give peace a chance!
