The ongoing civil works for drains at Margao poses a danger to the lives and limbs of passersby in the city. At many places the drain covers are missing while at other places empty oil drums are discarded at the sides of the drain. At other locations steel plates erected for the formwork of the drain walls are left unremoved, asphalt/pavers for laying on the roads / footpaths are scattered all over, also the concrete covers are misaligned. This sorry state of affairs poses a grave danger to pedestrians, in fact many minor accidents have already been reported. I would request the PWD to set right all defects surrounding the drain work at the earliest.
