Road at last for senior citizens centre at Pedda

Senior Citizens Recreational Centre at Pedda, Margao, was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister, Digamber Kamat, eighteen years ago for the benefit of senior citizens as a meeting and recreational place for fruitful discussions, informative and educative talks, and other welfare activities. However, the centre did not have proper access, except for a mud approach road, and seniors”especially ladies”had to face the hardship of dust during summer and knee-deep waterlogging during the monsoon.

It is welcome to see that the centre has finally received a proper tar road, and the long wait is over thanks to the efforts of the present PWD Minister, who coincidentally is none other than Digamber Kamat himself. It is also expected that the centre will receive a facelift with better internal amenities.

It is hoped that all such pending requirements in the area will be attended to in the near future so that the public can experience greater ease and fully enjoy the facilities.
