Security breach, but MPs not taken into confidence

Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledges that the security breach of Parliament when 2 persons intruded into the House Dec 13 is a serious matter and needs to be fully investigated. If so, what is wrong with Home Minister Amit Shah making a statement on the matter on the floor of the House? This is all that the Opposition has been asking. Why should the BJP be adamant on such a simple request and hold up the working of Parliament? One is compelled to ask therefore as to who is irresponsible, the BJP or the Opposition parties? It has been the convention that when Parliament has been in session any incident that happens with serious import on the country is first reported on the floor of the House and then to the public. Why is this convention being deliberately flouted? We need to remember that both serious breaches of the Parliament premises, one in 2013 and another this year, were with BJP-led governments in the seat of power.

Measuring Goa’s shoreline changes again unnecessary

As per a report (The Goan Everyday 15.12.2023), the National Coastal Zone Management Authority (NCZMA) has entrusted the Chennai-based National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM) to map the shoreline changes along the beaches of Goa. The NCSCM would extract data about shoreline changes for the period 2011-2022 by using satellite imageries and aerial photographs.
