Stop Saligao being turned into garbage dumping yard

The State government, taking full  advantage of the 'susegaad' attitude of the Saligaokars has now given the green signal for the Margao Municipal Council (MMC) to transport additional 30 tonnes (from the current 20 tonnes) of Sonsodo waste piled up in the old treatment plant to the Saligao garbage treatment plant on a daily basis.

Well, it looks like the government is somehow hell-bent on slowly bringing garbage from all over Goa to this particular garbage treatment plant at Saligao (which unfortunately is already said to be working beyond its designed capacity) under some pretext or the other and turning this village into one permanent garbage dumping yard. Why can't the government set up mini-garbage treatment plants in all the villages to permanently sort out this garbage problem? I think that Saligaokars should come together on one single platform to stop the government from  turning their once beautiful village into one permanent garbage dump of Goa.
