Strange but true: Animal punished for boy's death!

This is with reference to the report, "Cow arrested for killing 12-year old boy in South Sudan - The Goan Everyday 8 June 2022." That was indeed a strange piece of news, of an animal being arrested for killing a 12-year old child, walking near a farm in Sudan. According to their law, the owner of the animal is innocent, it is the animal who perpetrated the crime and so, the animal ought to be punished. The owner is not responsible for the animal's actions. The animal is imprisoned and sentenced to hard labour at a military camp. Skewed logic, it may seem! Yes it is!

Just to draw a parallel, a biker was riding a bike on  a highway (Jawahar-Dahanu) near Mumbai, and tripped on a ditch/pothole and lost her life. Now, who was responsible for her death, was it the biker, or the contractor who built the poor quality road?  Hold your breath, according to the authorities, the biker herself was responsible for this incident and was booked for negligent driving! The authorities/contractors are not responsible for your death. If you wish to ride on a potholed road you ride at your own risk. So, all such things seems strange, but true!
