Kudos to the polling staff, the backbone of the voting process for their hard work and who had been working for 24 hours on the trot away from their families to ensure free, fair and peaceful polling in Goa. Though there were some initial hiccups regarding their booth postings, working hours, safety and transport, many were excited at having played a responsible role in the elections. Also staff were either too rigorously trained or too rudimentarily trained for handling the proceedings. Some had to deal with senior citizens who did not know how to operate EVMs while others had to deal with the wrath of irate voters who didn't find their name on the voting list. Despite all the incumbent hardships, the electoral staff pulled off what can only be described as the best managed polls till date. Hip hip hurray for the unsung heroes.
