Former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)/Hindu Raksha Maha Aghadi convenor Subhash Velingkar while releasing the so-called 'Goa Files' on May 3 at a programme to celebrate Lord Parshuram Jayanti in Panaji has now claimed that his current fight is not against Christianity but against those who have a pro-Portuguese mentality in Goa.
Hey, if Goans are passionately following their own Gods, deities, their respective religions and giving their saints their own titles in the state then what is Velingkar's real problem in Goa?
And, if the ancestors of Christians and Hindus were/are the same and if the DNA of both these communities too is still the same, then why is this same gentleman still trying to raise some unimportant issues of the past to divide both these communities on religious lines by targeting St Francis Xavier popularly known as 'Goencho Saib' in Goa?
I think that leaders like Velingkar who are known for getting nightmares after seeing the Hindu-Christian-unity should henceforth learn to raise some real issues of today like poverty, unemployment, corruption, inflation etc instead of raising stories of the infamous Inquisition to desperately rejuvenate their own political careers.
