The Chief Minister directed that from June 6, the police will crack down on illegal massage parlours and that the police inspector will be held responsible in case any such illegal parlour operates. Why only now? Reports already showed that illegal massage parlours are more than the legal ones. This knee jerk reaction stems from the recent case wherein some 11 tourists were beaten up and photographed at a massage parlour. Locals have been complaining for years to no avail. This govt works only for tourists? How many locals operate massage parlours? Why are these allowed in densely populated areas open to the eyes of young people? Locals must decide whether they want such type of business in their midst: who is the CM to foist this on them? If the same is considered good as a profession, then why does the govt not train people in the same? It appears that the govt can force anything on the people based on what outside businessmen consider ‘business’. Further, why no action planned against the illegal business owners: why only the police inspector?
