The Zilla Panchayat election results indicate that the Congress is no more a party of the people, but individuals. The party was not ready to field candidate in Velim constituency because they could not find any candidate as it was reserved for OBC. It was Savio D’Silva, Sarpanch of Velim, who took the responsibility to put up a Congress candidate and make sure he wins. Now, all Congress top leaders are taking credit for the win in Velim, but who will take responsibility for the dismal performance all over Goa?
