Reportedly, a businessman from North 24 Parganas (West Bengal) travelled 900 mind-boggling times to Bangkok over a period of 10 years! The ED is probing a fake passport racket and the reason for his frequent travels. In 3,650 days, he made a trip every four days to Bangkok! Even if he had travelled from different airports, his previous travel history would have popped up on the immigration officers’ computers. There would have been a red flag and intense questioning by the officers, but apparently, nothing of that sort happened for some reason. Why would a person travel so often when, with technology, fake passports can be produced and dispatched through couriers or through friendly travellers? Maybe there is more than meets the eye, and it is not a simple case of a fake passport scam as is being put out by the ED.
