Rev. Fr. Bolmax Pereira has left us. In him, Goa lost a priest, educator, environmentalist, scholar, musician and tireless advocate for the people. He lived the Gospel beyond the pulpit, taught generations as a Professor of Botany, pursued knowledge as a PhD scholar, and worked to protect Goa’s rivers, forests and heritage.
Since his passing, tributes have poured in from across the State. MLAs, public representatives and leaders from different political parties have expressed their sorrow, recognising his immense contribution to Goa. Thousands of parishioners, students, activists and ordinary citizens have shared prayers, memories and gratitude for a man who touched countless lives.
Yet, there has been no public condolence message from the Hon’ble Chief Minister. We raise this not as a political accusation, but as a question that reflects the feelings of many grieving Goans. A condolence from the State’s highest office is more than a formality; it is recognition of a life devoted to public service. Fr. Bolmax dedicated himself to educating, guiding and serving society. We respectfully ask: will the Hon’ble Chief Minister join the people of Goa in mourning his untimely passing? May his soul rest in peace.
