Achieve Swacchh Goa on priority basis

Although various organisations including the municipalities and village panchayats have been boasting of assuring cleanliness at their jurisdictions, still no favourable results have been coming to the forefront.

Scenes of scattered garbage have been regularly noticed at various strategic spots. The situation turns rather undesirable and totally unhygienic for human lives.

Although the Goa Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai had recently appreciated the Village Panchayat of Queula for keeping its jurisdiction clean, in reality we come across scenes of scattered garbage within the jurisdiction of this VP.

A large quantity of garbage at Paunwada in the vicinity of Two Pillars remain uncleared for quite long. Also, plastic garbage is regularly noticed along the roadside in the vicinity of Shree Betal temple at Queula.

Seen in the picture is scattered garbage at the KTC bus terminus in Ponda. On many occasions, the same is being burnt at these strategic premises.

Proper disposal of garbage needs to be given top priority. Let us hope that the authorities at different locations in the state would try their level best to assure cleanliness at the respective jurisdictions before the existing situation turns from bad to worse.
