On October 28, a flight from Goa to Pune developed a technical snag while taxing towards the runway. The aircraft was parked in a bay for two hours with 150 passengers onboard.
When an aircraft is parked due to technical glitches, the passengers are not allowed to disembark. The waiting period may stretch to a few hours and one needs to wait it out. After a while most people get fidgety, senior citizens get uncomfortable and babies start crying.
Tempers rise and arguments ensue between the passengers and the crew. To avoid these ugly scenes, the passengers could be made to sit in the aircraft if the wait will be short (30 minutes or so). But if the time to solve the snag is known to be longer, then they could be herded to the terminal building.
A minor itch could arise if more than one flight is delayed beyond a reasonable time in which case additional waiting rooms will be needed. But such cases are rare.
