Nowadays firecrackers are burnt to celebrate Ganeshotsav. But can't we celebrate Ganeshotsav without firecrackers?
Destructive firecrackers cause damage to eardrums, create fear in the minds of people with heart disease and children and creates huge noise pollution.
Also due to pollution of firecrackers there is an increase in disorders like headache and blood pressure. Due to sound pollution disorders in respiratory tract and lungs increases.
Pregnant women are harmed by noise pollution from firecrackers. There is also the possibility of permanent deafness due to crackers. The toxic fumes from firecrackers also lead to an increase in asthma patients.
Firecrackers generate a lot of garbage, dust and smoke, causing a huge increase in pollution. Of late there seems to be competition among groups to burn firecrackers to celebrate festival.
Today society faces many problems like loss of job due to Covid epidemic, unemployment, shortage of water and electricity, increasing inflation, etc.
Today every State and country has a debt of crores of rupees. At this juncture is it justified to waste crores of rupees on firecrackers to celebrate festival?
Actually we celebrate Ganeshotsav to get the blessings of Lord Ganapati. Will this goal be achieved by such destructive firecrackers or by not exploding the firecrackers at the festival?
Everyone should think about it.
