The 3 leopards sighted in Patnem is really dangerous, as they seem to have acquired the taste of devouring domestic animals. It is learnt that a female leopard had been trapped at Faskali-Patnem by the forest officials and another trap will be laid for the remaining ones. Apart from this, the natural habitats of the wild animals should be preserved, not disturbed by human intervention. What will the wild animals do, if the forest areas are decreasing day by day? Are they alerting humans regarding the destruction of their habitats? However, instead of deforestation, afforestation should be encouraged for maintaining the flora and fauna of a particular region. Considering the prevailing circumstances, the main goal of these wild cats to visit human habitation is for their prey. Sadly, dogs have become vulnerable at this point of time. Nevertheless, there could be multiple other reasons too. So, in view of this current situation, a thorough research has to be done, and a concrete solution is the need of the hour, otherwise it's a recipe for disaster.
