Assure public transport on Sundays in Adpai

During Sundays, public transport at the villages of Adpai, Durbhat and Agapur in Ponda comes to a standstill. In the absence of private buses, residents at these localities face great inconvenience for proceeding towards Ponda and vice versa for shopping and other purposes.

As a matter of fact, private bus operators cannot keep their buses off the road without prior intimation to the Regional Transport Office at the concerned jurisdictions. However, this rule is often being flouted by the bus operators.

It is very much necessary that buses ply at these villages on Sundays as well so that the local population derive necessary benefit. The senior officials at the Regional Transport Office in Ponda should take a note of this and issue a circular to all private bus operators thereby instructing them to ply their buses on above routes on Sundays for the convenience of general public.

Let us hope that prompt favourable action would follow in this important matter in the interest of innocent commuters.
