Drain covers existing along the main road should be in uniformity compared to the level of the road. However there are instances wherein the same remain at a lower level thereby turning it dangerous for two wheeler riders in particular.
One such instance was recently noticed in the vicinity of The Goa State Cooperative Bank Ltd at Sadar in Ponda.
Indeed, a two-wheeler proceeding at a fast speed is likely to get involved in a mishap sooner or later by losing control at such spots. This would certainly result in adverse consequences.
Precious human lives are at stake in the process. In case of serious head injuries, the victim is likely to lose his life on the spot. It is very much necessary that the travellers are assured safety in this serious matter.
Hence it is the need of the hour for the concerned authorities to see to it that the drain covers at different locations are installed in uniformity to the level of the road on a permanent basis.
