Bengal politics: Mithun’s arrogance to the fore

Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty joined the BJP in a blatant and flagrant show of publicity at a parade ground. Sadly, the only talent on show was another act of deception and spewing of venom by an actor rather than a serious politician.

The threatening one liners he quoted 'I will hit you here and you will land in the crematorium’ followed by 'I am not a water snake. I am a cobra. One bite will turn you into a photograph' is insulting arrogant and divisive and takes the political discourse to an all time low.

He shows that like his political masters he does not respect the people or fails to understand the power of the electorate.

People will respond to this unproved verbal attack by an arrogant actor masquerading as a politician through the power of their vote and political allegiance.

Irresponsible threatening divisive language as used by Chakorborty may appeal to the gullible few but poses a serious question for the decent majority, about how low will our leaders sink for the lust of power but destroying the future of our once tolerant nation?
