Getting the appropriate person for the job seems futile as demonstrated by all 23 candidates to Administrative Tribunal President post vacant since July this year found unsuitable.
Firstly, the delay in appointment and then the candidates mostly practicing advocates, all reportedly possessing the required LLM degree qualification rejected surely calls for introspection in our system and administration.
This incompetence and delay is an example of body blow to justice, already too slow for "justice delayed is justice denied". It is hoped that the government and Law department will rise to its responsibility and take corrective action on a war footing in public interest.
Speaking of competency and qualifications, the responsibility of the citizens for electing competent candidates to form a government in a democracy is paramount.
