Actor Kangana Ranaut, a known die-hard supporter of the current ruling BJP government at the Centre whilst speaking at a event recently made a most outrageous statement saying that India's Independence in 1947 was not freedom but "bheek" (alms) and India attained real freedom only from 2014 after the Modi-led BJP came to power at the Centre.
This callous statement is indeed an insult to India's freedom struggle led by Gandhiji and countless freedom fighters. Her statement is not at all acceptable and due which her Padma Shri award should also be immediately withdrawn.
Kangana might have received her Padma Shri award through "Bheek" after doing slavery of the current ruling BJP government but we Indians have definitely received our freedom in 1947 through the sweat/blood/sacrifices of all our great freedom fighters and not through "Bheek" of certain current ruling politicians of this country.
Today, if Kangana is heard shamelessly claiming that India has got real freedom after 2014 then that's because saffron symphatisers like her.
I therefore strongly feel that such arrogance and insult to our great freedom fighters just to stay in good books with the current ruling dispensation and just to enjoy her own "ache din" needs to be booked immediately under sedition.
