This is with reference to the report, "SC asks centre to file report on cases of attacks on Christians - The Goan Everyday March 30, 2023." There is no doubt that there has been a spurt in attacks on Christian institutions and Christians in recent times. It is good therefore that the Supreme Court has asked the Centre to file their report on such attacks and hate speeches against minorities. We are rightly perturbed about non-Christian places of worship being attacked in Australia & Canada and that is just not acceptable. While we in India condemn such acts, we should also look inward, towards our own country where minority institutions are being attacked brazenly. We are a secular democracy, a melting pot of various cultures, castes, languages, religions, etc., and we have been living in peace and harmony with each other for years. Let us leave aside our differences and work together to build up our nation and preserve our secular fabric. We owe that much to our freedom fighters who gained independence for our country.
