The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has conducted an in-depth research on the degradation of forests in 98 countries in the world. These statistics are from the last 30 years. In the six years from 2015 to 2020, India has lost as many as 668,400 hectares of forest. From 1990 to 2000, During the period 2015 to 2020, the rate of deforestation was higher than the previous years . Increasing population, climate change and increasing urbanization, the reason for this is the degradation of the forest on a large scale. This forest is being cut to meet the needs of the growing population in India. Brazil ranks first in the world in terms of deforestation. The Amazon forest in South America is considered to be the largest in the world. The extent to which the forest is being cut down, the amount of planting new trees is very negligible. It is necessary to create awareness among the people and at the government level. Otherwise the next generation will have to bear the consequences
