With the setbacks to the BJP of doing 400+ or even the figure of around 350 across all the exit polls, the silver lining in the dark clouds is that it has done well in Karnataka, MP and in Andhra allying with the Telugu Desam Party. The major debacle for the BJP has been UP where Yogi Adityanath has to be sent home with his bulldozers for allowing the INDIA alliance to creep ahead of the NDA. In Delhi, the BJP is leading in all 7 constituencies with no sight of AAP, which may lead one to conclude that like the ED arrested Sisodia and Kejriwal and sent them to jail, if the BJP had done that with the leaders of all the national parties then the BJP would have had a cakewalk in the present elections. The other surprise in these elections has been the LDF losing favour in Kerala and the UDF making major gains. Modi & Co will scrape through nonetheless with a majority but they would know now, if they have any sense, to learn a lesson from these polls and not to take the Indian people for granted.
