Goa Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar has now reportedly warned of taking strict action against all social activists/civil society members who are found holding media briefings, accusing the sitting MLAs of being involved in a 'setting' and criticising the ongoing assembly session proceedings outside the house by calling it as a breach of privilege. Well, this is like a referee issuing threats to spectators for questioning the integrity of players of all different teams and for accusing them (which includes him) of indulging in some match-fixing on the pitch during every match in Goa. If the Speaker wants the social activists to stop holding their media briefings and criticising the ongoing assembly proceedings outside the house in future then he should not allow anyone to enter and to witness the live assembly proceedings in the house and also ban all live coverage. It looks like the Speaker wants our Goans to watch the assembly session proceedings like dumb moviegoers eating popcorn.
