The government has taken the right step in cancelling public celebrations of the Shigmo festival just as the governments in states like Maharashtra have banned public celebrations of the popular Holi festival. And so, all this in the public interest of course, as the chief minister rightly says, 'Health comes first, festivals can be held every year'. They need to be complimented for their good thoughts. Now, contrast this to the election campaigning in several poll bound states in the country. As is evident from media reports, masks, social distancing, etc., has gone for a toss. Neither are the leaders wearing a mask not the public (majority of them) at public rallies nor at roadshows. One is tempted to ask, does the Corona have favourites? Are there any answers?
