For the last one month, residents of Caranzalem and surrounding areas are battling water shortage with several people complaining of taps running dry.
Inquiries have revealed that water is being supplied to the area for just one hour every alternate day and that too at a very low pressure resulting in a lot of inconvenience to the people.
This supply is hardly enough and residents have to depend on water tankers or rush to the nearby wells to manage their household chores.
Residents have also raised suspicion if there was a nexus between the PWD officials and tanker operators. Repeated complaints to PWD officials have fallen on deaf ears.
With summer round the corner, the situation is expected to deteriorate further. We only hope that the new government that comes in at least ensures basic necessities to the common man.
