Carnival parade: Govt must get pat on its back

Carnival is our traditional festival. Even during the pandemic the ‘show went on’ and a large number of people witnessed the floats in Panaji and Margao.

What brings to mind is the culture and tradition being kept intact by Goans. There were several floats depicting the culture. Even Indigo airlines supported our culture by serving Goan food and making the announcement in Konkani.

The government must be patted for holding the carnival parade even though it was held in just two cities “ Panaji and Margao.

Despite the pandemic, there were khel tiatrs held at some places. Youth were also seen splashing water on each other. Hope this tradition continues so that our future generations can get knowledge of our Goan culture and tradition.
