Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho of late is heard continuously talking of scrapping all private and government-owned vehicles in the State that have already completed more than 15 years to reduce air pollution in Goa.
Many Goans have bought second hand vehicles according to their financial position and are still using these vehicles after keeping them in good running condition.
The government should give a thought to these well-maintained second-hand vehicles.
The price of most new vehicles has doubled in the recent years and is beyond the reach of most of our Goans.
The government should not fall to the marketing tricks of automobile companies just to increase their sales.
If Godinho is so much concerned about air pollution then he should also talk of polluting industries in Goa and force his government to shut them down.
