CHOGM road in Porvorim which used to be the scene of heavy flooding and water logging every monsoon, even after a light shower or two, has now been freed of this decade-long menace to motorists and residents of the area, caused by the potholed road, faulty drainage works, choked drains improper road grading and cross slope.
Thanks to the excellent works carried out by the PWD --notwithstanding of course, the brickbats it keeps on receiving for the pathetic state of Goa roads.
It is therefore not that we lack the technology or know how to carry out works of this nature, but the lackadaisical attitude, woeful lack of supervision, accountability and corruption that has destroyed the infrastructure and earned a bad name for the department.
