CM Pramod Sawant has strongly refuted the opposition’s charges that the circular dated 4 April 2024, issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), was an election gimmick used to cheat people during the Lok Sabha elections and denied that his government had purposely kept under wraps the corrigendum dated 30 April 2024 issued by the MEA.
Well, if what Sawant is saying is really true, then why was his government celebrating and calling the earlier issued circular dated 4 April 2024 (stating that the MEA has decided to accept revocation certificates instead of surrender certificates) as another great achievement of the Narendra Modi-led government and trying to hypnotise the gullible voters of South Goa during the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections in Goa?
I think that CM Pramod Sawant should stop lying and saying that his government has not used the earlier issued circular dated 4 April 2024 to cheat people during the recent Lok Sabha elections in the State. Because despite knowing everything about the latest issued circular dated 30 April 2024 stating that the ‘Revocation Certificate’ as an alternative document in lieu of the ‘Surrender Certificate’ is still under consideration of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), he and some of his party colleagues/leaders were seen moving around in different parts of the State during the run-up to the recent Lok Sabha elections and fooling everyone.
