I am writing to express my deep concern and anger over the statements made by Pooja Naik, one of the accused in the jobs-for-cash scam, during a recent press interview. Her claim that the scam would not have been possible without the involvement of politicians and senior government officials is a clear reminder of the deep corruption in our system. From my own experiences at government offices such as the passport office, RTOs, property registration offices, and departments of posts, I have often faced slow, careless service and employees who seem uninterested in their work. The fact that agents continue to operate freely in these offices, helping people pay bribes to get their work done, shows how badly the system has decayed. Strict action must be taken not only against the main accused but also against everyone who took part in the scam. I also believe that those who paid money for jobs should face punishment too, as giving bribes is equally wrong. Finally, I urge the authorities to review the backgrounds of all current employees, including their recruitment exams and scores, to ensure that only qualified and honest individuals hold public positions.
