Counsellors can guide students to right career

Job scams in Goa, wherein the victim pays a huge amount, sometimes in lakhs to get a government/private job, but sadly fails to understand that she/he's been tricked all this time. Yes, at a very young age, the students have to be enlightened by the teachers pertaining to several government jobs/exams/schemes, along with the cut out marks required for the selection process, etc. Once the students are aware of the government job criteria then based on their inbound skills/talents, they can take a step further for their preparation. Simultaneously, each school should employ a counsellor to provide educational counselling wherein the children are guided to discern their inner strengths/skills or talents. Sharpening of one's inbound skills/talents in an institution, getting it certified, moving ahead into the competitive world and creating a niche in career is the destiny one has been called to. A profession of one's choice lined up with natural calling will render immense satisfaction and delight at the time of its performance. It's a great move by the State government that it has been implementing steps to brighten the future of the students, by providing relevant information.

New hit-and-run bill seems harsh

It is learnt that a delegation of activists staged a protest in Goa against the recent ‘Hit-and-Run’ Bill passed by the Indian government and called for a rollback. As per the new Bill, if any driver causes the death of a person by rash and negligent driving and flees from the spot without reporting the accident to the authorities could be jailed for up to 10 years and fined Rs seven lakhs.
