In the International Olympic Meeting held in Mumbai, the sport of cricket was approved for Olympic competition to be held in Los Angeles in 2028. After the Commonwealth and Asian Games, T20 cricket has now been included in the Olympics. Out of the 99 members of the assembly, only two members opposed it. Cricket has nearly two and a half billion fans worldwide. After 128 years, cricket is being included in the Olympics. America is nowhere to be seen in cricket at the moment, but since they are the hosts, they will automatically get entry. At present, cricket is competing with football at the global level. There are 87 countries in the ICC men's T20 cricket rankings, while women's teams have a total of 66. On the contrary, there are 207 men's teams and 186 women's teams in the Fifa's list. So it will take some time for cricket to reach the top position at the global level.
