Osia building was at one time the most prestigious commercial building in Margao, but now its condition has literally gone to the dogs. Wet, dirty passages with gutka stains, feral dogs lurking in the corridors waiting to pounce upon an unsuspecting person, restaurants with gas cylinders kept in the open, posing a danger to passers-by, broken railings, moss-covered walls, peeling plaster, sewage water collected on the outside, and many other problems besides make this probably the most dangerous building to be conducting business out of. The arcade houses government offices too, but no one seems to be interested in taking responsibility for the upkeep of the building. Will the Margao Municipal Corporation at least take on the onus of the building facility management?
