The government needs to be applauded for the timely renewal of the DDSY cards. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush as now freebies are being offered by various parties.
The government should also be applauded for keeping the Covid treatment in hospitals free of charge. This has benefitted thousands of patients who have been down with the dreaded virus.
Various candidates are found to be quitting smaller parties and joining the ruling dispensation. This is because smaller parties can at best offer ‘snacks or starters’.
Sooner or later, candidates are bound to feel suffocated or starved in such parties. It is only big parties with presence at the Centre who can offer a ‘main course’.
Previous regimes in Goa were unable to secure funding for Goa although they had their own party at the Centre. It was this anti-party mindset that cost us dearly.
