The traffic signals at the old market circle are non-functional for many days, causing confusion and anxiety to the motorists as well as the pedestrians wanting to cross the road.
This area is one of the busiest traffic intersections with traffic converging from all sides, north bound, south bound, east and west bound, making it a highly vulnerable spot for accidents and fatalities.
Just some days back a 43-year old scooterist lost his life at this junction when he got hit by a speeding car.
This accident would not have happened if the signals were in working condition and/or traffic police were in place to regulate the traffic.
The authorities should get these lights working on a war footing before more mishaps and casualties take place.
