With the frequent, indiscriminate digging of roads, the Ribandar and Chorao island residents and commuters have no option but to go through the peril. Commuters facing hardship due to the ongoing “unplanned and haphazard” projects, including sewerage works, being implemented under the Smart City mission leaving no space at Ribandar. Free movement of vehicles is hindered and it has become a nightmare for motorists to navigate the stretch. Commuting to Chorao island from Ribandar ferry is herculean task. Peoples have suffered immensely on account of the haphazard digging of roads. The roads of Goa are nowhere good enough. One organisation digs the road after another, making traffic jams a never-ending problem. It has become a common sight for us to see the roads being dug very often in most of the areas. Most roads in the city have become unfit for travel. With digging, Ribandar looks like a graveyard. The digging for the smart city projects is causing potholes, and they are crippled by limitations to carry out repairs on rainy days which leaves the roads in a bad state.
