Disruption in normal life due to VVIP visits can be avoided

Due to the PM's visit to Margao to inaugurate the National Games on Thursday numerous traffic and security restrictions had been placed. Some roads are closed, shops on the routes have been asked to remain shut - some news say for a few hours, others say for 4 days prior to the day of the visit, the 'gaddos' on the route have been asked to remain closed for the same amount of time, government offices have been given half-day holiday. Can you imagine the disruptions in normal life and loss of livelihood and economic activity, all because of a VVIP's visit? Could the government not have taken a decision to have a helicopter fly him direct from the airport to the stadium? Our PM keeps talking about the interests of common people who are close to his heart but thrives on putting them to difficulty on his visits across the country. In fact as part of SOP all VVIPs across the country should be moved by helicopter wherever it is possible so that common citizen's lives are not affected because of these visits.
