A bus shelter near the Benaulim panchayat ghar was inaugurated with much fanfare a few years ago but has fallen into disuse due to neglect by the authorities. The structure has been reduced to an advertising billboard with all sorts of companies illegally promoting their wares. Vegetation has grown over the structure, and dogs use it for their siesta, often soiling the seat.
Additionally, no flooring has been done. The shelter falls on the busy Maria Hall to Mobor route but, due to its poor state, people have to stand outside the structure, braving the scorching sun and rain. I request the authorities to revive the shelter so that it is used for the purpose it was meant.
