The excitement at the Yonex - Sunrise All India Sub Junior Badminton Ranking Tournament 2024 continued on day two at the multipurpose stadium in Peddem, as qualifying matches unfolded with thrilling displays of skill and determination.
In the U-17 Boys Singles category, several rising stars showcased their talent, with notable performances from Lesslee Roy [1], Konark Inchekar [7], Avadh Billore [5], Sainunmawia Sailo [4], Saivasan B. [8], Bornil Akash Changmai [3], and Sri Aditya Harsha Vardhan Bomakanti [6], all advancing into round three of qualifying.
Meanwhile, in the U-17 Girls Singles division, the competition was fierce as Remya Pravin [1], Mayukha Sreejesh Nair [8], Nishika Gokhe [2], Disha Santosh [5], Bhagyasri C. K. [3], Sampriti Pal [6], Shaina Manimuthu [4], and Shourya Madavi [7] progressed into the qualifying round 3, displaying remarkable skill and determination.
Local talents from Goa also made their mark on the court during the day's events. In the Boys Singles U-17 category, Shaheen C.K. displayed exceptional prowess with thrilling victories over Adarsh Yadav and Nikhil Marishetar P., while Shaurya Naik secured a hard-fought win over Dhruv Jaiswal. However, Shubham Swami faced a tough challenge, losing to Parth Gawri. In Boys Doubles U-15, Sudhanva Udupa and Linesh Virnodkar exhibited stellar teamwork, defeating Samarth Makhija and Hardik Rao.
Despite valiant efforts, Goan players faced tough competition in the Boys Singles U-15 category. Aaryan Karpe fought bravely but ultimately fell to Garvit Barwar, while Shane D'Souza displayed resilience before succumbing to Ajintya Joshi. Sparsh Kolwalkar and Vansh Natekar also showcased commendable performances bowing out to formidable opponents.
