In Ponda we come across sewerage chamber covers lying a bit lower compared to the level of the road. Such a discrepancy in level proves dangerous to the lives of innocent travellers proceeding along the concerned routes. There is every possibility of mishaps taking place sooner or later thereby leading to adverse consequences, including severe injuries and at times even deaths due to head injuries. The situation turns more serious during the night due to poor visibility at some locations. The matter is quite serious and needs to receive prompt attention from the concerned competent authorities. At all costs, the authorities should ascertain that chamber covers are installed in uniformity to the level of the road so that safety is assured to precious human lives. Seen in the picture is one such instance along the route from Shree Maruti temple at Varkhandem towards the KTC bus stand. Let us hope that prompt favourable action would follow in this serious matter in public interest.
